What to do with incense packets with Krsnas picture on them

Philosophy · asked by user [] · 2007-08-02 · 9 answers
Sometimes incense packets have Krsnas picture or Krsnas name on them so I feel bad about throwing them to the garbage. Is there some other option so I can stop collecting them?

I heard that burning is the last option...

I always keep them in a drawer. I dont like to throw them away, it just doesnt seem right. So what if I have three drawers full with packets. To throw them away is not good...

I collect all this kind of stuff, like damaged books, temple flyers, etc in one place and then burn them once in a while.

Not too much damaged books can be donated to libraries in prisons, hospitals, etc. directly or thru Prison Ministry or Sastra Dana.

but what can you do with the empty packets. It hurts burning them

Burning them is a proper means of disposing of them.

Better is if you live by the Ganges and can put them in the current.

Burying them underground is also acceptable.

but if they are made of plastic and things like that its not so green to put them in the Ganges, no?
user [24] · 2007-08-04
i suppose putting plastic things in the Ganga isnt so great. Maybe its better to avoid buying the plastic ones then.

I just put them aside somewhere and when I have time ill cut them to use them as bookmarkers.. or use them straight away...
