How is Ego related and not related to Pride?
Health · asked by user [] · 2010-05-10 · 12 answers
I have read already that i can be really full of pride in the service of Srila Prabhupada like being developing my martial spirit all along with it in the service of the self realized Vaisnavas then and then, how can any kind soul help me find the leap between my egotistical behavior and that in comparison with my being just proud of accomplishment? Because i can not really be proud of something that is not my accomplishment yet, such as being purely Krsna Conscious, but on the other side it can be the only way i can reassure and affirmatively tell my self that i can do so.. while it is taking throughout in the way of the life of other individuals not so sure of this goals as possible of we as reading Srila Prabhupada'b4s book, even though we know that this is as that is my human life objective for this present birth o mine. Being fully Krsna Conscious.
Thank You for your assistance,

So what about Pride related to Failing or the success from the people, where will it finally go by?user [170] · 2010-05-12
Gopis were liberated souls, yet Krishna had run away because they became proud during the rasa dance. Pride can be part of a particular rasa as well. One can be also very humble but conditioned as a sadhaka.user [560] · 2010-05-13
Thank YouIt is very clearly being exposed, for your dear so humbly how is the conditioned a sadhaka? Or in what does it consist the sadhakas condition-ment present?

1/10,000 the tip of hair. Knowing this in relationship to the absolute Sri Krsna,Sri Vaisnava is profoundly humble, via medium for an unstoppable force and indomitable spirit that is inconceivable in or conditioned state. It is explained like that! ;-)This is Sakti-avesa Avatar.

Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura then comments, '93Without being empowered by the direct potency of Lord Krsna to fulfill His desire and without being specifically favored by the Lord, no human being can become the spiritual master of the whole world. He certainly cannot succeed by mental concoction, which is not meant for devotees or religious people. Only an empowered personality can distribute the holy name of the Lord and enjoin all fallen souls to worship Krsna. By distributing the holy name of the Lord, he cleanses the hearts of the most fallen people; therefore he extinguishes the blazing fire of the material world. Not only that, he broadcasts the shining brightness of Krsna'92s effulgence throughout the world. Such an acarya, or spiritual master, should be considered nondifferent from Krsna'97that is, he should be considered the incarnation of Lord Krsna'92s potency. Such a personality is krsnalingita-vigraha'97that is, he is always embraced by the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krsna. Such a person is above the considerations of the varnasrama institution. He is the guru, or spiritual master, for the entire world, a devotee on the topmost platform, the maha-bhagavata stage, and a paramahamsa-thakura, a spiritual form only fit to be addressed as paramahamsa or thakura.'94 (Cc. Madhya 25.9)

All glories to Srila Prabhupada. Hare Krishna. Please accept my humble obeisance.Suryavanslvaisnava,
Sri Krishna personally instructed the great kshatriya warrior Sri Arjuna:
"In all activities just depend upon Me and work always under My protection. In such devotional service, be fully conscious of Me. If you become conscious of Me, you will pass over all the obstacles of conditional life by My grace. If, however, you do not work in such consciousness but act through false ego, not hearing Me, you will be lost."
Srimad Bhagavad Gita As It Is Chapter 18, Verse 57 and 58
There are two egos, real: "I am spirit soul, eternal servant of Sri Krishna"
and false: "I am this material body and mind and everything is meant for my enjoyment."
The sense of "I" should be always in relationship to being lowly servant of Srila Prabhupada. The sense of mine should be that only Srila Prabhupada and Sri Krishna are mine. And everything else, including us, are Theirs. Your pride can be in the service of Srila Prabhupada but the result of the service is up to the Lord; no matter if it is successful or not, we have to keep our commitment to Srila Prabhupadas service. You do what you have to do the best you can with the talent and facility Sri Krisna has given you. If you succeed you are very proud of Him, and grateful that he used you to have His success. If you are not successful, you take it as the mercy of the Lord.
You want to be encouraged by your sense of own accomplishment but you can be similarly encouraged by your sense of Sri Krishnas accomplishment through you and over you. Jai Srila Prabhupada!

Hare Krishna. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. Please accept my humble obeisances.Today i found this on www.prabhupadaconnect.com and thought of you. It is Rememberance no. 10
"When walking alongside Srila Prabhupada, one could not help but feel a similar sense of spiritual pride and confidence. We knew that no one could harm us in Prabhupadas presence. He was greater than any king and greater than any foe. We were invincible in his divine association. What a blessing to be allowed such a rare privilege. I hardly remember any of the conversation, but Ill never forget walking beside Prabhupada."
"Similarly, in the Tenth Canto, 2nd Chapter, 27th verse of Srimad-Bhagavatam, Lord Brahma says: My dear Madhusudana, persons who are pure devotees of Your Lordship actually feel Your ecstatic friendship, and as such they are never vanquished by enemies. They know they are always protected by You, and so they can matter-of-factly pass over the heads of their enemies without any care. In other words, one who has taken complete shelter under the lotus feet of the Lord is always proud of being able to conquer all enemies."

Great, as usual.I get some different opinions, but i read through this piece of letter also;
But the servers should not be proud to be glorified by the things they do. The Sevaka not have the ego that he is "doing" rather he simply will, and that is his religious practice. We must therefore try to harmonize with all quietly, because we are all Govindasundar servers, and we want the most beautiful things to Sri Guru and Deity.
