Another good question is, "Are the books reliable?" According to Mukunda Datta Prabhu, a sanskrit scholar, many of the sacred texts that are to be translated have numerous manuscripts and need not only a trained but advanced devotee to translate them. The manuscripts are not the same therefore decisions need to made in translations thus there is a requirement for advanced translators.

I would expect contradictory reports. The quality of almost every product and service in India is variable depending on the stars and your luck.

I shipped with them once, but that was about 5 years ago and I think the online service did not exist then...a 7 volume Mahabharata to Australia. It took so long ( a few months) I had forgetten about it and when it did arrive, the thin paper wrapping was barely hanging on. Still, none of this diminished my joy at receiving it, and the books werent damaged.
