Because it may be on the 2nd in the calculations for your location. It is weird this year, some places 1st some 2nd of September. Register and download your own calendar at http://www.krishnadays.com/eng/

So when is it for UK then?
user [154] · 2010-08-31
In Uk -- depends -- In Edinburgh and Belfast it is on the 1st, in London it is on the second.

Thank you ji.I still dont get it if Belfast and London are in the same time zone how is it that they have Janmastami on different days?Excuse my ignorance.

Because each location will have different constellations in the period of muhurta or tithi, actual sunrise is at different time too, which is an easy part to understand.

Yes, both latitude and longitude are in play.

I heard that Srila Prabhupad said (unverified) that when there is Ekadasi in Vrindavan it is ok for all centers to adhere to it at the same time just to avoid confusion. Is that a fact?

Havent found such connection between these two words in Vedabase.

ISKCON worldwide followed Mayapur calendar but then after further research the present local-calculation calendar was introduced. See GBC resolutions 1988-1990.

Heres a little tutorial I made for importing calendar found from vaisnava calendar.info into google calendar and setting reminders/notifications in gmail and by sms.

Strangely I have no "google calendar gadget" on the list of options.Does that mean that I cant activate the calendar feature properly?

It says :"Google Calendar Labs is a testing ground for experimental features that arent quite ready for primetime. They may change, break or disappear at any time."

Could it be that the option that you specified for activation is not available any more.If so how do I activate the darn thing?
user [464] · 2010-09-01
It should be the sixth option on the labs page.

If its really not there I dont know how you would activate it. But if you set reminders in the notification section of the new calendar, you should at least be sent email reminders.

thank you mung ,this really is a great and reliable option and it works
