From the Western scientific pov gunas could be called vibrational states of matter. Their aspects are three states of consciousness
(alpha, beta and theta), three somatotypes (ectomorph, mesomorph, endomorph - analogical to vata, pitta and kapha doshas in Ayurveda), etc.
