Your sufferings are an illusion, and the joys that are actually sufferings are also an illusion, they do not constitute you and to the degree you define yourself in these terms you are in illusion about who you are.

In fact the activities, the material world and karma is not an illusion, but to identify and to desire the fruits that they bring is an illusion.

If all our sufferings and all our joys are taken away from us, then is there anything left? Do we even exist apart from our sufferings and joys?
What constitutes human personality? How does human personality exist?
What is the soul? How is one soul different from another? Is each soul unique? If yes, how, in what way?

Excellency questions Baker. Answers are in the Bhagavatam from chapter 1 to... let me see. But each can be a separate question I hope. In essence -- if upadis are removed from a conditioned soul it has nothing to hold on to, liberated soul has no upadis, and all his feelings are real.
