who is the "rain god" ?

Philosophy · asked by user [] · 2010-11-04 · 1 answers
Growing up in India, what we heard all the time was "Rain God is Varuna" & Indra as God as thunder.
But SB says Indra is rain God http://vedabase.net/sb/10/24/8/ not as "rain god but "controller of rain"

Should that be interpreted as "controller of varuna" ?
