How much has been spent on the planetarium so far?

I remember hearing and reading figures that were up to around $15 million, but I never got the source for that. Itd be nice to see if there was a source for that number, or some source that alludes to that number.

And please keep this on topic. I dont want it to turn into another "the planetarium model looks bad" or "the moon is farther from the earth" thread.

Thanks, and Hare Krsna.

Thanks, but Im looking for the amount spent in the last 20 years or whatever on the project. Not the cost of the current planetarium.

Not an easy figure to arrive at, think of all of the free man hours that have gone into meetings and planning over the past 20 years, who knows, but at the end of the day the final cost will rest somewhere between 50-100 million USD. People will be awestruck as in ancient times when villagers came into ancient Rome.

I remember Harikesh Ex-Swami giving a pumped up talk back in 81 in Mayapur he said "We will show the world that we are no longer the same Hari Krishnas that wear a blue sock on one foot and a red one on the other"

What all this has to do with bhakti yoga is anyones guess, yes it was Srila Prabhupadas desire to build a planetarium and that will occupy one of the small domes on the roof and that will probably cost 3 to 5 million the rest is just pure extravagance in one of the poorest areas in India.
