How do you tell the difference between being determined in Krsna'b4s service and being just stubborn?

yes but maybe you can be blinded and think that this is for Krsna and it is my service and I will do it no matter what. It starts as something in knowledge and degrades to stubborness. You yourself dont see the difference so how do you avoid falling into this trap?

For some devotees it can take many years of "stubborn" service (meaning not much vijnana) to reach a level that another comes naturally just by being more mature..Sincerity of purpose too; if you have a biased, own agenda, double standard mentality, then the Lord is not much pleased cause you are serving yourself through the external activities of devotional service.
Being in the mode of passion mainly, you have your own agenda of becoming "somebody" important, and you work hard for it, meaning you can even perform austerities to reach your goal. Only in the mode of goodness you do act out of duty and your actions are illuminated by knowledge
