Tulasi devi

I have been caring for same Tulasi devi for the past six years (since she was a seedling). I understand that the lifespan of Tulasi plant is about 5 years. Now one branch at at time is drying up and dying (there are now quite a lot of dead branches) while other branches still look very healthy with new leaves and manjaris. Is this the sign of an old plant?

theres a lot of information in this "tualsi handbook," including on diseases and cures. im not sure if the symptoms you describe are due to disease or old age (didnt read the whole book in detail yet), but tulasi plants in our garden show the same symptoms after a few years.URL: http://www.vrindavan-dham.com/vrinda/tulasi-handbook.php

Thanks, it helps to know that others have the same symtoms in an otherwise healthy plant. I have the Handbook and will try to find this again in it.
