What is the difference between ghosts and Pitas?

Today I was reading this:
SB 3.20.40: The glorious Brahmuc0u257 next evolved from his sloth the ghosts and fiends, but he closed his eyes when he saw them stand naked with their hair scattered.

but then I read:

SB 3.20.42: Recognizing himself to be full of desire and energy, the worshipful Brahmu257 , the creator of the living entities, evolved from his own invisible form, from his navel, the hosts of Su257 dhyas and Pitu257 s.
purport:
The Su257 dhyas and Pitu257 s are invisible forms of departed souls, and they are also created by Brahmu257 .

I thought ghosts were invisible forms of departed souls. What kind of ghosts are the others then?

It all depends if sraddha offerings are given or not. Heard the term hungry ghosts? They are hungry since they dont get sraddha. Garuda Purana @ VEDA has details.

Veda means (all) knowledge and VEDA is a gateway to it. ;) So before asking a question you may as well peruse it and there is a good chance youll find it an answer.
