Is Ok to sing Radhe Radhe during the bhajan?

Philosophy · asked by user [] · 2007-08-25 · 13 answers
Thats my question.
user [40] · 2007-08-25
do you mean to sing it as bhajan or to sing it whilst others are singing another song
user [156] · 2007-08-25
while singing another bhajan song or maha-mantra. like shooting. kind a haribol haribol
user [40] · 2007-08-25
I like it

I love it when someone calls out like that it seems to add the the mood

I havent head or read anything against the practice and Radhe Radhe would seem appropriate content to exclaim

others?

i cant find the quotes right now, but ive read that SP did not approve of chanting radhes name alone, except during radhastami. the reason was that we dont worship her without worshipping krsna at the same time. i keep looking (please dont wait for me, veda!)

can he call out Radhe Madhava instead

or Krishna Radhe

Morning Walk, April 8, 1975, M'e4y'e4pur

Jay'e4dvaita: Just like sometimes well hear our men. Theyll be chanting... Like yesterday I heard that someone was chanting, "Nit'e4i-Gaura, Nit'e4i-Gaura, Nit'e4i-Nit'e4i-Gaura." Like that, Ill hear different mantras. Someone is chanting: "R'e4dhe, R'e4dhe, R'e4dhe, R'e4dhe," like that, at k'e9rtana.
Prabhup'e4da: Well, that is not done by the 'e4c'e4ryas. But there is no harm chanting "R'e4dhe." But sometimes it is degraded to make something new, invention. Therefore better to stick to "Hare K'e5'f1'eba" and to "'c7r'e9-K'e5'f1'eba Caitanya Prabhup'e4da-Nity'e4nanda." Otherwise... Just like the sahajiy'e4s, they have invented: "Nit'e4i-Gaura R'e4dhe 'c7y'e4ma, Hare K'e5'f1'eba Hare R'e4ma." These things will come gradually. But they are not approved. They are called chara k'e9rtana (?), means "concocted k'e9rtana." But there is no harm chanting "R'e4dhe, Nit'e4i-Gaura." So better stick to this Pa'efca-tattva, and mah'e4-mantra.

Mahanidhi Swami, Gaudiya Vaisnava Samadhis in Vrndavana, 7 (Sri Gaura Kishora dasa Babaji Maharaja):

Sitting in seclusion, he chanted 200,000 names of Krishna every day (128 rounds of japa). He felt painful separation from Radha-Govinda and cried profusely. As he wandered through the dvadasa vana (12 forests) of Vraja, he would loudly chant the holy names in a deep voice full of lamentation. He would also relish the following bhajan:

kothay go prema-mayi radhe radhe!
radhe radhe go jaya radhe radhe!
dekha diya prana rakho radhe radhe!
tomar kangal tomay dake radhe radhe!
radhe vrndavana-vilasini radhe radhe!
radhe kanu-mano-mohini radhe radhe!
radhe astha-sakhir siromani radhe radhe!
radhe vrsabhanu-nandini radhe radhe!
'93O Radhe Radhe! Where are You, O Goddess of ecstatic love? O Radhe Radhe! All glories to You, O Radhe Radhe!
O Radhe Radhe! Please show Yourself to me and thereby maintain my life. Your most despicable fallen servant calls out to You, O Radhe Radhe!
O Radhe! Oh artful enjoyer of Vrndavana. O Radhe Radhe! O Radhe! Oh enchantress of Kanus (Krishna) mind. O Radhe Radhe!
O Radhe! Oh crest jewel of Your eight main girlfriends. O Radhe Radhe! O Radhe! Oh delightful daughter of Maharaja Vrsabhanu. O Radhe Radhe!'94

Bhaktivinoda Thakura, Gitamala 5.5.4:

radhe radhe boli, murali dakibe,
madiya iswari nama
suniya camaki, uthibe e dasi,
kemon koribe prana

The low, deep sound of His long murali flute will call out, "Radhe. . . Radhe. . ."'97the very name of my own worshipable Queen! Startled with wonder by hearing such a sound, this maidservant will jump up in great haste with an extremely anxious heart, not knowing what to do next."

siddhanta: Sing bhajans composed by GV acaryas.
user [40] · 2007-08-26
Thats interestingly put isnt it.

The Acaryas dont do it
theres no harm it really, however
it leads to the wrong kind of thing (concoction)
people can have the wrong idea about it
better stick to the authorised business

That was my next question. But I like it. Especially the part when it goes "...ki jaya jaya jaya" then you really jump three times, hehe. But getting of the point. Yeah, can you sing that?
