Do material things not work on Ekadashi?

Philosophy · asked by user [] · 2007-08-25 · 2 answers
What are your experiences with apparently inauspicious things happening on Ekadashi. As devotees we have heard travel is not good on ekadashi.

Yesterday was ekadashi here and my car died. During the 1 and half hour waiting for tow truck I got to read Bhagavatam. (Also I told some wrong location so I got an extra wait) And is it just me or do computers also like to break on ekadashi?

It must be you : )

I have read a lot about Ekadashi as I am researching to write about it. There is some good information here

Here on the Iskcon.com site

There is some mention of not traveling LONG distance and not avoiding strenuous physical labor. I think that is to allow you to put effort into your observance and to not be distracted from your object by the difficulties of travel.

There are a couple of good and detailed books available also.

According to what I have read if you are observing Ekadasi is totally auspicious. So whatever is occurring for you during your observance should be totally beneficial.

Perhaps it is Krishna pulling the plug on your PC at Ekadasi saying you should be doing something else. ; )

I also have that experience! Computers failing for no apparent reason. Illogical behaviour, never seen before errors, the list goes on.
Never try to finish a computer project on ekadasi because they wont work.
Thanks i am not alone on this one.
