I have a document wit the letterhead:

The Bhaktivedanta Book Trust International
Founder-Acharya His P.O. Box 34074 '95 Los Angeles, CA 90034 '95 Phone: 310-837-5284 '95 Fax: 310-837-1056

authorizing me to post copyrighted material.

Note the BBTinternational

and in that site you post VEDA, it is stated that BBT is the copyright owner,, why BBTi is making the
paperwork?

In other words, who is who?

What happened was that the first BBT was constituted in California, and included Hansadutta prabhu. Then later the BBT was reconstituted, but the original one was not dissolved. This became an issue after Srila Prabhupada left when Hansadutta, who was no longer officially acceptable in ISKCON, challenged the right to the copyrights.

A couple of things that contributed to this lawsuit, if I have it correctly: the re-editing of Srila Prabhupadas published books, and the fact that the BBT would not supply books to people that the powers-that-be didnt like.

As I understand it, the BBT wouldnt give Hansadutta books, so he said; "I AM the BBT". It went to court and cost a lot of money. In the end the BBT lawyers realized that they were in danger of losing, so they sued for settlement. Thus the BBT,with Hansadutta, got the right to reprint the original unedited books, and the other BBT was named BBT International, which prints the re-edited books, and publishes new titles.

So, if memory serves me correctly, because I understand that the constitution of both happened during Srila Prabhupadas manifest lila, both were legally constituted by Srila Prabhupada.

Thats a good overview. They settled out of court.

so, who are the officials of the BBT now, do they include Hamsadutta?
user [157] · 2007-08-31
According to some opposing forces, the BBT also is not functioning as Srila Prabhupada wished:50% to the Mayapur project and 50% for other Iskcon projects.Prabhupada used to be so proud of his book selling that was reaching $60,000 per day!
I would like to read some reports about how much it is now and the complet history of the organisation the Acarya used to call his cash-cow,as laksmi is the blood of any organisation!
If Im not mistaken,Bhagavan das,ex guru and Krishna Kant Desai,BTP editor,is also involved in Krishna Books Inc.

Thanks in advance!

BBT(i) newsletter about the legal case.

http://www.indiadivine.org/audarya/iskcon-internal/375101-bbt-online-newsletter-no-2-a.html

It says that the original trustees relinquished their rights as BBT trustees, my question on what basis they did so?
Do they still hold rights to publish Srila Prabhupadas books and how?
Why they still hold BBT(i) as main society instead of reverting to BBT if they "won"?

What happened was that the first BBT was constituted in California, and included Hansadutta

that the powers-that-be didnt like.

fact checking with hansadutta prabhu personally could eliminate many of the alleged "factual" errors that occur with statements like " because I understand that the constitution of both happened during Srila Prabhupadas manifest lila, both were legally constituted by Srila Prabhupada.".
this is both blatantly untrue, an intended diversion from the facts, and the cover story the GBC put forth when, after spending over a half a million dollars with the coudert law firm to prevent hansadutta from being able to get, print, or market Srila Prabhupadas original, lost the case in court. the GBC has sued the coudert law firm (pronounced "cowdirt") to reclaim the
half million they lost trying to stop the distribution of Srila Prabhupadas books. the BBTI was created as an alternative to the original BBT which still listed hans kary as a trustee, in the attempt to restrict the distribution of Srila Prabhupadas books.

so, next relevant question would be, is BBT(i) in control of the original BBT?
does the original BBT trustees still hold office, or as told elsewhere they gave up their rights?
if all got settled as Iskcon official version says, why is there the need to run BBT(i) as the main showcase?
afaik, BT(i) vs hamsaduta et all happened after Srila Prabhupada manifest pastimes.
