Anyone you know?Names plse!
user [2] · 2007-10-12
I an not interested in witch hunting here. Anyone with Internet connection can name the names.
I want to know if there is shastric reference or argument, cause I know some people that just go for it and dont mind. Personally I see no justification, but I would like to hear others opinions in case am being wrong. You never know.

Thanks for being bold!

No,thats just his name...this is bold:

Sampradaya Sun posted this story December 30, 2006 by NAVADVIPCHANDRA DASA titled " The Mayapur Cover-Up Team in Action "

heres part what He said :

For the last 20 years every single investigation of child abuse or
misconduct in Mayapur has been a joke, and you are the latest joker
making everyone laugh. You say you are thoroughly investigating Bhakti
Vidya Purna Swami'92s case and will announce your opinion shortly. Why
don'92t you first announce the results of your investigation into
pedophile Bhavananda whom you have sitting on the Vyasasana giving
classes on Srimad Bhagavatam even today? Bhavananda, one of the most
notorious child molesters in Mayapur, is today sitting in front of
Radha Madhava with a garland around his neck giving class to all of the
devotees calling them rascals.

This fellow is another fanatic who spreads rumors and exaggerations. Certainly some things he says are accurate, but I have seen several of his posts on the Sampradaya Sun which are complete nonsense. I believe he has an agenda and is not afraid to say any old nonsense rumor which he thinks will support his agenda. Maybe his goals and ideals and agenda are sound, but his scholarship is sadly lacking. I would hesitate to quote him.

So Bhavananda is not in Mayapur sitting on the Vyasasana ? maybe He is just thinking about sitting on the Vyasasana.
user [192] · 2007-10-13
Now dont get any ideas now Bhavanadaji...
user [194] · 2007-10-13
Is Bhavananda still owner of Gayvindas,Sydney?

Mishra what do you mean by confirmed.
user [2] · 2007-10-14
proven by investigation, even confessed, beyond a doubt
user [40] · 2007-10-14
So you mean confessed or found guilty by a court of law is that right?
user [13] · 2007-10-14
Yes.
user [13] · 2007-10-14
No.
user [13] · 2007-10-14
Depends.
user [13] · 2007-10-14
The third answer - "depends" - seems to me to be the most likely. Im not sure what the actual purpose of this question is...

A person who is fixed in their determination is to be considered saintly in spite of discrepancies. Were all been child abusers in past lives by this stage (anadi karama-phale). People can give up mental bodies, and in this case it is the same effect as giving up their physical body and taking a new one. We dont hold offenses from previous lives against people.

At the same time, it can cause social disturbance when this happens, so we can make an argument that even a reformed and atoned person should not do it, simply to maintain a high standard. As Srila Prabhupada put it: "Caesars wife must be above suspicion".

Also we can look to the Manu Samhita with its admonishment for a brahmana who contacts a clay pot that once held alcohol to give up his body in ritual suicide. Why not just wait for the next body. But then again, why not expend this body preaching.

There is no need to get on the vyasasana though, there are unlimited fields of preaching to commit ritual suicide in by charging enemy positions against unsurmountable odds. You could go and do harinam in South America or Africa, or preach from a small shop or house in a modern Western metropolis. The opportunity for service is unlimited.

Related GBC statement from this year:

"Moreover, a devotee does not have to hold titles such as GBC, temple
president, diksa-guru, etc. in order to advance-and to help others
advance-in Krishna consciousness. And at times, it is necessary to
restrict access to such official positions in order to protect the
reputation of Srila Prabhupada and the integrity of his society.

The GBC asks the members of ISKCON to give serious consideration to
these reflections, and it begs for their understanding and cooperation
as it attempts to balance the needs of individuals in ISKCON with
those of ISKCON as a society.

Clarification of the Term "Positions of Leadership"

[Statement]

1. Whenever the ISKCON Central Office of Child Protection rules that
an offense is such as to restrict a person from serving in ISKCON in
"positions of leadership" (including but not limited to offices of
GBC, minister, zonal secretary or temple officer), the restriction
must include the position of initiating guru. This restriction shall
apply to all previous and future decisions of the Central Office of Child
Protection."
