Excellent question.A census of the Iskcon World is greatly needed, just imagine how usesfull that information would be for all managers and all preaching devotees, present and future.
In North America most Festivals and Rathaytra photos show mostly Indian bodied devotees,of course this is of great benifit to those temples, but where are the western devotees ? Something is going on.

Im pretty sure that other societies are much more organized.as computers have facilitated such job nowadays. After the tsunami of fallen gurus, many devotees have left and went back into the arms of Maya, even eating meat and drinking whisky!Chanting..only a souvenir....A percentage are still chanting and doing some service.
In Eastern Europe,Former USSR,there are rumours of thousands of new devotees....but I dont know the numbers.Same with Africa/South America...separated by the language barrier.
But sure,Lord Gaurangas sankirtana movement is growing.....
Other Gaudiya Math preachers are also spreading the Holy Names around the world.

that shows you never been in the countries where preaching is still going on.

Hariharibol, I agree with ccd. You yourself admitted that youre not well travelled. So you only know the situation in USA, and possibly just in some part of it. ISKCON is growing a lot in Eastern Europe, Mid East, or South America (not mentioning India) but there are hardly any reports about that.user [192] · 2007-10-18
" that shows you never been in the countries where preaching is still going on."Thats true Prabhu, cant say that I have been everywhere,I didnt think that was one of the qualifaction to answering the question.
I am not trying to be official or anything.
So please let us know about the Iskcon population in eastern Eeatern Europe, how many mangala-arotik attendees are there every morning, what are the largest temples ? We all know NA is empty.

2.000 living in
Africa
2.000 practicing
300? living in
India
120.000 practicing
2.000 living in
South America
5.000 practicing
500 living in
US
8.000 practicing
10 living in..

hope youre joking about 10 living in, in the US. I was in New Dwaraka recently and there is certainly more than that there alone. I cant speak for numbers, but 10 for the whole of the USA is ridiculous.user [2] · 2007-10-18
a croatian devotee visited here recently and he told me about 700 initiated devotees there.user [154] · 2007-10-18

Do you find it not ridiculous or is it still ridiculous?user [188] · 2007-10-19
Id say closer to 300 at an absolute guess. At New Dwaraka I really couldnt say, but there is at least 35 devotees.user [19] · 2007-10-19

Most hindus know the Maha Mantra, and celebrates Krsna Janmastami! So they are somehow devotees, and even some are pure devotees[always thinking about Krsna!]
Even "blooped"devotees never will forget Krsna!
After all these Ratha Yatra festivals around the world, millions know the Maha Mantra!
Thats why the CIA is worried!
user [192] · 2007-10-19
whats the CIA worried about ?user [203] · 2007-10-24
6,000,000,000only time separates us...

[quote][cite] hariharibol:[/cite]whats the CIA worried about ?[/quote]The CIA,as well as all materialistic organisations, hate anyone promoting a simple way of life: Mc Donald going bankrupt, everyone growing their own veg, bullock carts instead of cars,no more cokes and co.,no cigarettes and drugs,no prostitutes houses, slaughterhouses, or dancing halls...no more materialistic music or TV...Just Krishna ..Krishna!!!
Ex USSR placed Iskcon as the most dangerous sect on its list, and the Orthodox church leader called Krishna a demon:all worried about the destruction of fake religion!Devotees had so many difficulties to get land in Moscow!
So,you can be sure theyll do anything to stop Iskcons growth!
