"One should become sannyasa by action, not by dress. That is the opinion of Lord Caitanya also."

I think you may have missed the point made by Srila Prabhupada...I believe he is referring to the idea that a Sannyasi should also travel/preach - not just dress as a Sannyasi.

Try to make yourself heard, dressed in jeans and T-shirt,to vaisnavas, mainly in India!

As soon as you get into sannyasa clothes, many doors-and bank accounts!- are open:its magic!

Though not many can live without sex, real spiritual life starts when one stops such action completely.Even real grhastas are supposed to have a separate room, and have sex for procreation only!
Srila Prabhupada gave sannyasa to his disciples,in an emergency solution, for preaching purposes, knowing well that they may fall.Though many did fall,a lot of preaching has been done, and still is being done by the renounced order, which is supposed to be the heads of society. Only such sincere leaders can preach vigorously around the world, the message of Lord Caitanya, and their austere life is rewarded by much respect from all, except when they fall down .

Lord Caitanya Himself demonstrated the strategy of taking sannyasa as a preaching tool.

Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati reinstituted this, to great opposition at the time, from those inside and outside the Gaudiya Vaisnava camp.

Here are some scriptural references:

"The real truth of dharma is found in the hearts of saints"
- Mahabharata

"Whatever action a great man performs, the common man follows. Whatever example he sets through his actions, the whole world pursues."
- Sri Krishna in Bhagavad-gita

Pranava had actually pulled the court details of the case between Ananta Vasudeva and Tirtha Maharaja.

They did not settle outside of court and they did split the math based on the 1934 will.

But to do that the final will and sannyasa order of BSST had to be refuted by Tirtha Maharaja. Court held that because family of BSST was kayastha, he can not be called sannyasi, and thus his non-sannyas will that dealt with property inherited and written before the operation in 1934 was valid.

In PrabhupadaVsDe case in Bombay ISKCON basically won, because Prabhupada was recongnised as a sannyasi and because he signed all properties to ISKCON not under his personal name.

I have a desktop calendar from NV and yesterdays quote from that is "One who has got a helpful wife at home does not require to accept Sannyas". I searched the vedabase and found the complete letter:

My Dear Krishna devi,
Please accept my blessings. I was very glad to receive your letter dated Oct. 20. I can understand your anxiety about your husband & rest assured that I shall never advise your husband to leave you. Both of you are very good souls & constantly engaged in the service of the Lord. One who has got a helpful wife at home does not require to accept Sannyas. If required, both you and your husband can preach Krishna Consciousness combinedly. We are concerned more for Krishna Consciousness & if that work is executed more nicely by cooperation of husband & wife, there is no necessity of thinking wife as impediment to Krishna Consciousness. While I am living you should act according to my instructions & there is no question of impediment. Hope you are well.
Your ever well-wisher
A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami
