From my own experience you should chant at a speed that facilitates proper pronounciation (but not more than 10 mins per round)...any thoughts?

well thats true and i wanna tell you is like what Ive been getting to however, to start and do the 16 of the next day today.. so you will be up to 32 usually a day and if you can you can accrue that way to anyone steadiness i think its working for me.. i was really really oozing that day. what to speak of a years earning rounds or something. yes, interesting.. i agree even pronunciation and the mood i will like to give it more respect to it to or something like that. yesuser [26] · 2007-11-19
I feel that the speed is not so important as long as you are pronouncing each word fully without skipping, plus you can also hear each, Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare/ Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. I know from my own experience, if I try to chant very slowly, I seem to lose focus more, and have to keep drawing myself back into the mantra. If I chant really really fast, I sometimes miss some of it. For each devotee, it can be different. It is best to find what is the most comfortable speed for you. I can usually chant a round in 6-7 minutes. Just remember what ever the speed, this is your personal time with Krishna, so....make the best of it.user [19] · 2007-11-30
How fast is prabhupadas chanting?user [166] · 2007-12-01
There are two recordings that I know of...one is the faster recording that most temples play during Japa...the second is Japa by example, where Srila Prabhupada is chanting slower and very clearly:http://ia351410.us.archive.org/2/items/SrilaPrabhupadaJapaByExample/Prabhupada_japa_classReverb.mp3
