How do we know that scriptures are authentic?

How do we know for sure that our Vedic scriptures have not been manipulated over generations? Or maybe in decades?

There is a triple check system of guru-sadhu-sastra. They must be in sync. Sastra was preserved in parampara by being copied on a new media (usually palm leaves).

The proof of its power is in its effects on people. I can recommend a good book on Vedic epistemology by Suhotra Swami called Substance and Shadow. In a popular language he speaks about Western and Vedic tradition.
