What do you answer when nondevotees ask what your "religion" is?

Ive talked to several devotees regarding this topic, some believe that in the case of preaching to Hindus, one(the preacher) should say that they are "Hindu" as well, just to maintain a comfort zone.
However, others believe that the preacher should directly point out the fact that he/she is a Vaisnava, and is is above all sectarian notions of religion.
Is there any particular answer? It would be nice to hear some other views as well.

I tell them that I do follow a religion, religion follows me big time.user [38] · 2008-03-25
While some devotees say Vaisnava Hindu, I prefer just a Vaisnava. The questioner almost never knows what it means so I can explain. If Id say just Hindu, Id let the questioner retain possibly wrong idea of Hinduism and allow him to put that label on me, displeasing Prabhupada and previous gurus. There are already related threads here.
