What are the qualifications for siddha pranali initiation

Philosophy · asked by user [] · 2008-04-23 · 12 answers
Say someone wants to take siddhapranali diksa, what are the qualification of guru and disciple and how do they differ from harinama diksa for example?
user [265] · 2008-04-23
Wow! do you know what siddha pranali is? Both guru and the disciple must be EXTREMELY qualified. Bhaktisiddhanta removed formal siddha pranali initiation from our tradition as not to tempt both the future gurus and their disciples to perform such advanced bhajana prematurely.

do you know what siddha pranali is? - No. But what is the qualification and how it is different from qualifications for a regular guru?

I did google this for i was unaware of this all together, and found what seems to me an extensive answer by H.H. Tripurary Maharaj on his site. Just adding this for consideration. :

Aasking Tripurari Maharaja about siddha-pranali is more or-less hearing about it just from one side - even as he is not as antagonistic to it like some other gurus in the Saraswata line. It is a very big topic and none of us are likely to qualify for siddha-pranali anytime soon :) borokrsnadas-ji, there are very, very few persons in this world qualified to get siddha-pranali initiations and even fewer gurus who can actually give such a blessing.

The qualification is that you must be able to actually perceive Krsna in His holy name and have an intense longing for Him. A longing burning your heart day and night. Regular gurus give you mantra which can take you to that level, if chanted with great purity for a long time. But to open the door to Krsnas pastimes they must already be on the other side of that door, as it only opens from the inside, no matter how long you stand there knocking on the door.

It is a deep subject, best reserved for private talks among the mature devotees. I only know a little, and it is just pure theory.

I agree. Too confidential. In my case, it would all be speculation anyway.

I think the point is come back to basics

What Srila Prabhupada said? One should try to understand Srila Prabhupada trough his diksa or authorized siksa guru(s). The point here is dear borokrishna prabhu. Who is your spiritual master?

because the topic goes on and on so we should seek siddhanta from our authorities.

Borokrishna: Say someone wants to take siddhapranali diksa, what are the qualification of guru and disciple and how do they differ from harinama diksa for example?

As far as I know Srila Prabhupada didnt teach or instruct to take siddha pranali diksa. This is not our process. Whatever qualifications we may have or need for our spiritual service and advancement are there thanks to pleasing the guru, in our case pleasing SP means follow the mood of devotional service of Srila Prabhupada. So if someone is looking for siddhapranali diksa should find someone fit for it. But my question is.
None of us would never be able to know nothing about bhakti or vaisnava tradition without the causeless mercy of ACBSP
We owe everything to ACBSP
We are in eternal debt to Him
'bfWhy not returning the mercy with faithful service to Srila Prabhupada in the precise mood of his service to his spiritual master?
Prabhupada made ISKCON, BBT and GBC as a humble offering to HDG Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakura Prabhupada. This is our mission. this is our goal, our life and soul. Just serve Prabhupada in his mission. No siddha pranali diksa is required in our sampradaya. Just follow the previous Acarya.
the point is: if someone is willing to take siddha pranali diksa despite ACBSP and SBSST where not demanding, teaching or asking for it.
means various options

1- this person may have met vaisnavism through other means or vaisnavas
2- If not, this person does not have faith in ACBSP and SBSST
3- He did not understand the proper way to relate the spiritual master
4 - this person does not follow ACBSP and SBSST siddhanta

Anyway Prabhupada talked about the issue but as an internal natural development
He said to one of his disciples: Whenever you are ready the spiritual master will come to you and reveal this things to you
So Prabhupada was not banning but asking him to have faith in his Guru. that is Srila Prabhupada.

Please accept my humble obeisances.

I could go all day about this I want this post short because we could just churn this bit of nectar first then we could expect more right
Hare Krsna
Why can we just understand this will have to happen one day out of neccesity? Should there be any problem with this tattva/sastric injuntion
So If nothing is wrong with the Rasa then why not, Did Prubhupada ever give only Hari Nama? what about Babaji? and what is the difference with other bonafide spiritual masters? If it is a emergancy why not any thing maybe we should have "all or nothing yes and no" mentality like children? .
Precidents are only that precedents who cares if one person seems more advanced than another where is a practical example of this problem?
Is it that neophytes will change/repress/mutate sastra in regards to "excluding" something vedic/Vaisnava?
Why the hell not? Give this out if some one can take the karma they may also display this opulance.

Another point is do we expect enough people/devotees to even want to act as Brahmanas? that is quite unrealistic, maybe also childish?? Why not first give this type of inititation or make it open as such?

I think the question is still there. What is the difference between qualifications of guru who can give siddha pranali (like the one Bhaktivinoda Thakura got) and a regular guru that gives gayatri and mahamantra? This will not change my following Prabhupada. I just want to know the difference to follow him better. BKd

See the last chapter of Harinama Cintamani for an overview.

There is nothing in the last chapter of HNC as to qualifications of guru who can give siddha pranali or vesi initiation. All we know that some were not qualified and still were giving it to others, and Bhaktisiddhanta stopped it and introduced tridandi bhiksa initiation. Did Bhaktisiddhanta get siddha pranali from Gaurakisora dasa Babaji? What was his name at initiation?

Qualifications of guru are implied - he must be accomplished in this internal seva.

HNC 15: The svarasiki process of worship

Asta-kaliya-lila smarana is also known as svarasiki worship. In this stage of
bhajana, one is awarded the opportunity to accordingly serve Krsna in the times
and places of his pastimes. Now the devotee realizes the full grace of his
spiritual master, who, in his eternal spiritual form (siddha-svarupa), guides
the disciple to a sakhi (confidential gopi) who in turn introduces him into
the pastimes of the Lord.
