Quote: Gays are less than animals

-The world is degrading to the lowest status, even less than animal. The animals also do not support homosex. They never have sex life between male to male. They are less than animal. This is all due to godlessness.

How do devotees that support homosexuality understand this quote?
Can you explain this to me?
but please dont give me a sitapati kind of reply...

Ummm, well Im sure that gay devotees will point out that in the animal kingdom homosex does take place. They will explain that this argument is used by Victorian scientists who refused to admit or report that it does take place.Lets be careful here - devotees dont support homosexuality, they support homosexuals. We need to support all kinds of people: alcoholics, drug addicted, sudras, brahmanas, men, women, celibate, heterosexual, homosexual, to become devotees and overcome their conditioned nature.
Is that a Sita-pati kind of reply? :-)

I dont understand, I have seen homsexuality in animals, my 2 female rabbits were nonstop I had to seperate them because the aggresive one tramatized the passive one. I have seen bonobo chimps have sex nonstop, male to male, male to male child etc. So we see some animals have sex for pleasure and this is recreated in the material world by humans. Why say it does not exist when anyone who has been to a farm can tell you it does?Dont get me wrong, I believe many people are lower than animals and many animals higher than humans in the way they treat each other but I do not understand this denial of basic animal nature. If anything one is acting in the manner of animals having same sex relations. The idea I would think is to overcome this animal nature as we do when we practice celibacy.

same as with women quotes, if they think they are women they will identify and can be offended, if they know it is external and has nothing to do with the soul, they won'b4t.user [265] · 2008-05-22
If based on that quote you think that Prabhupada really thought so little of homosexuals, why did he welcome such people into his movement and made some of them into prominent leaders of his movement? Quite a few of his early disciples were homosexuals, and it was no secret to him. Prabhupada gave sannyasa for the first time (his first sannyasi initiation) to one of them, Kirtanananda. Devotees should look not at a single quote, but consider the entire body of instructions and evidence on any particular issue.
