Losing results of austerities?

Philosophy · asked by user [] · 2008-07-20 · 3 answers
How does it work where brahmanas curse someone and as a result diminsh their stock of tejas, shakti or results of austerity? (Im not even sure of what it is called.) Such incidents appear many times throughout the puranas. What is it exactly that is stockpiled? How does one access it? Where does it stay? How does it give force to curses? I assume it can also be used for blessings as well?

Does anyone have any info on this?

The way I understand it is that anytime you want to do something that is not in a persons karma (like a blessing, or a curse) you have to pay for it with your own good karma points. Most people really have no power to bless or curse anyone - it is just empty words. But sages had real power to make such words come true - still, it was not free.

It is just like spells. You may know the words, you may say them right, but without a power of consciousness to make them come true they are ineffective.

That is called sukriti. if you see injustice and do not speak up you loose it as well... You can gain them by blessings, why not, but not by bless me father for I have sinned, it has been two nights since my last confession..."

Build power- Do 25 -26 Nirjala Ekadasis per year. Austerity is the wealth of the Brahmanas. May be stored in the Aura. Advanced souls literally glow with spiritual energy.
