Haribol! I wanted to share some recent lila with you.
Last week my mother told me that she was going to visit one old friend to the hospital because he had cancer. I saw this person maybe once in my life many years ago, but I heard his glories many times. He was an artist called Che Dur'e1n who spent his hole life inspiring others to paint and to be happy. Specially children loved him very much. He always organized beautiful painting festivals for everyone.
Well, I felt inspired to send something to him, so I got one Tulasi leave from Nrsimhadevs lotus feet from Mayapur, even with some sandalwood on it still, one Nrsimha pavitra and one beautiful picture of Radha and Krsna, the one of the swing (being an artist I though he would like this one) and I offered some apples too. I also wrote a letter and explained everything in detail and told him to eat the leave, put the pavitra on and wished him all the best.
After preparing everything I was chanting my rounds and thinking, he has maha-Tulasi leaves, this and that... he has everything. And then a voice inside of me told me, NO, he doesnt have everything!!! He doesnt have the Holy Name! So I took the letter again and wrote the maha-mantra on it, so he read it at least once.
My mother came back with the news. She found him in the garden of the hospital, very depressed, and gave him everything. Because my mother forgot her glasses he had to read the letter loudly. He said the maha-mantra very loudly!!! He was very moved by this letter coming from someone strange and he took everything I told him very seriously. My mother said that looked like he was waiting for something and then he got it.
Anyway, my mother came today and she told me she met his son. Che Dur'e1n passed away 4 days after my mothers visit. He told my mother they were chanting together the maha-mantra and that he took the Tulasi leave with a deep feeling of appreciation. Also, when he passed away, he was very happy.
So my realization is that making others happy, like this person did his entire life, makes Krsna very happy. Im sure he is in a good place now.
Also my mother was very moved by this story. She doesnt like Hare Krsnas very much, but she cant avoid being attracted to Krsna :)
The best feeling on earth is to feel as an instrument of Krsnas mercy!!!
