It was always accepted as a fact. Just a few years after passing of Mahaprabhu, close associate of his wrote a rather nice book Sri Krishna Bhajanamrita, it clearly states that in this age of Kali nobody is without a fault, but power of practices of the devotional service is such, that it burns to ashes the effects of such faults. Not only in Kali, even before, "Ahindra, Kirata, Pulkasa, Khasa and other clans addicted to sin, can be purified by acceptance of the shelter of the lotus feet of Vishnu who is full of all auspiciousness."

So if you ask me, yes I am under influence of Kali, but I have faith that this process is so powerful, that even I can be purified.

Much the same mood as your good self ccd....regardless of our faults if we follow the process seriously then this influence will reduce.

My question is, has this influence become more accepted in our society - I remember when I first joined the movement in 89 the mood was quite different (in relation to the attitude towards the material energy)....

Some say it is better now than it was. Others say now is worse than it was. So which one of the two is Kalis influence?

I would suggest that to set a high example but at the same time accept others as they are is the right attitude and if you accept a low standard for oneself and see too many faults in others, and just because an attack of maya on someone, we consider them to be kaliis-agent, that is actually work of kali.

So it has gotten better overall. Now we need some good exemplary and tolerant devotees. (And less exemplarily intolerant devotees:-) Some will say, more you tolerate others faults more you are an agent of kali, I would suggest more you get rid of your own faults more you will be able to tolerate others. I hope we will mature more and more without loosing the core of course.
