What to do with parent with Alzheimers?

My mother is 87 years old and I have been taking care of her at her home for over 6 years. I have help and my mother is getting the best of care here. However, there is no Temple here. I feel that Krsna wants me to continue to care for her at her home. However, I resent the fact that my life is on hold. I would love to move to a devotee community and get back into a strict Hare Krsna lifestyle again. How do I deal with my feelings of anger and resentment? I know the Vedic teachings say we must care for our elderly parents. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

So many devotees, such as Gopal Bhatta Goswami, had a similar situation, he also had to stay home until his parents passed away. It is your desire that counts.user [265] · 2008-11-26

[/quote]You are quite likely right that Krsna wants you to help her there. It is a lesson for you. The lesson of how to surrender to Krsnas will. You want to serve Him in a way that suits your needs, He wants you to serve Him in a different way.
Just perservere, and you will be rewarded beyond your expectations. Your life is not on hold. This may be the most critical lesson you will ever learn. One that will prepare you for your own death.
You have been blessed. Have faith. Our true spirituality is reflected in a way we interact with others. Serving others is critical to our development. Your mother is also blessed to have such a nice devotee as a son, helping her in a final stage of life.

Thanks ccd and Kula-pavana. Yes, I do believe I have been blessed. I just have to surrender to Krsnas will instead of wanting my "own will" and everything will be OK.
