Brighu

Recently, I was reading the wonderful diaries of HH Indradyumna Swami. One particular diary entry that caught my attention was "The Past, Present and Future" which you can read at http://www.traveling-preacher.com/ShowArticle.aspx?ID=49&AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1. In this diary, the Brighu is able to accurately tell of the Maharajas current life and even make predictions. This particular place is apparently in the state of Rajasthan(India). In the diary, Maharaja says that it is 4 hours drive from the town of Nathdwara in the desert. I live about 3 hours from Nathdwara and would like to visit the Bhrigu. Can someone please let me know the location of this Bhrigu? If you could tell me the name of the village that would be great since I know the surrounding areas quite well. Thanks.

Search for: rajasthan bhrigu nadiIf you find him, youre qualified to see him. ;)

I read that too and some senior devotees said that this was going to misled many junior devotees into thinking that knowing your future was good.user [379] · 2009-03-19
Veda, thanks for the message. I would really appreciate if you could provide exact details since as you would know there are many frauds out there. Searching for rajasthan bhrigu nadi provides confusing results. Hence, I would be grateful if you could let me know the address of this Bhrigu, just the village name would be nice or something similar.abhiram, the future is not always good :)

Ok, I think I got it. Is it Karovi?user [2] · 2009-03-19
Why in the world the users on pariprashnena would know such intrincacies? It is clearly out of the reach of the common men. No, seriouly, why not ask Indradyumna Swami or Sri Prahlad das for the address? Just replicate the steps and you are there.
And no, we will not accept "We were not aware of the trip, as if magically dumbfounded" as answer.
Then publish it here, we the populace might one day
need it too. :)
My personal opinion is.... well that would be the subject of another question.

mishra, I have asked Indradyumna Swami as my mother is her disciple and he said that he doesnt know of the location. He said that he was simply taken there in a taxi in the middle of nowhere. Also, I have tried Sri Prahlad das but have received no response despite sending several emails. Also, what makes you think that is out of reach of the common man? In fact, the whole point of the nadi (and that is why Brighu wrote it) is that the common man can see his past, present, and future. You do not need to be rich or powerful to see the nadi. As for why anyone on pariprashnena would want to know, well I guess I am just curious. I assume you know the story of the Brighu so I dont think that is unrelated given that even Srila Prabhupada talked about this subject.

double_ell1, thank you so much for giving me the address. I really appreciate your kindness. I hope I can find this village since it is not listed on any maps that I have here nor anyone knows about it. I guess I will just visit the Bhilwara district and ask around. What time would be best to visit Nathuram ji or is this predetermined :)user [149] · 2009-03-22
adipurushji,If you write to Rupa Raghunatha at Food for Life Vrindavan, he can confirm the address of the Rajasthan Brhgu. The elderly Brghuwala has stopped doing readings because of his age and his son, according to some, does not seem to have as much shakti.
By the way, the your arrival there is predetermined. When my mother-in-law went there, it was already written on the Brghu records when she would arrive and even listed the number of people that would accompany her, all which were correct. The Brghu records told of the death of her husband, the marriage of her daughter and the death of of her father, events which all happened within a month or two of when the Brghu records said they would occur. It also told that her mother will come to Vrindavan, something that was impossible to conceive of. But somehow right on cue, the mother changed her mind and she came to Vrindavan for a few weeks.

deenaji, thanks for your help. Unfortunately, I dont know the email address of Rupa Raghunatha prabhu. It would be very kind of you if you could please let me know. Thanks.user [149] · 2009-03-24
I dont have an opinion as to whether you should go or not, but I would trust Rupas recommendation. My mother-in-law said Well somethings better than nothing. Its up to you either way. (So thats one vote for no, one vote for yes, and one vote for do what you want:)In regards to the shakti required: According to my mother-in-law, there is an elaborate process to select the specific palm leaf. The Brghu asks some questions, analyses your palms and face, and from this information he writes down seven numbers. Then you are required to select some particular pictures or diagrams that correspond to numbers and those numbers must match the numbers that the Brghu wrote down before. The matching numbers determine which palm leaf is to be read. So this requires considerable expertise and skill to analyse a person from their hands, their physical features and by questioning to conclude the appropriate numbers.
My mother-in-law went twice to the Brghu. The first time the reading was done by the elderly Brghu and the seven numbers matched on the first try. Subsequently the reading was very accurate as I explained before. The second reading at a later date was started by the younger son but he was only able to get a match on the fourth try. This also happened for the other people that were present and she didnt proceed with the reading. It is also said that if the numbers do not match after the fourth try, you should go back the next day.
There is also apparently considerable skill required for interpreting the actual writing on the palm leaf. It appears that there is not one single palm leaf for each individual in every body throughout eternal history, but that one palm leaf may be used for different individuals. The skill comes in interpreting what is on the palm leaf in the context of the information from the individual and the information present through the palm leaf selection process. Just like a group of people may be born on the same minute of the same day in the same year but their astrological charts must be skillfully interpreted differently according to the other planetary influences. Or something like a tarot card - one card can be used for so many people, but the meaning of it is interpreted in the context of the other cards.
Hope this helps. Please note that I am not an astrologer, nor have I been to the Brghu. I am just passing on information told to me by someone who has been there.

deenaji, I am a little confused. As you correctly pointed out that the elderly Brighu is quite old now and has stopped doing readings. But, his newphew is doing them now and does not have the same shakti as Nathuram ji. Rupa Raghunatha has confirmed this and recommended that I not visit him. What is your opinion? Should I go there or not? Did your mother-in-law get it done by the elder Brighu or the nephew? I was thinking that since the readings are written on the palm leaf, it does not require much shakti from the Brighu Reader. All that is needed is to find that palm leaf and translate it into from Sanskrit.
