Where is the authority?

Philosophy · asked by user [] · 2009-09-20 · 10 answers
"If one simply regularly chants and follows the rules and regulative principles ALL questions of philosophy will be answered by Krsna from within and ALL doubt will be cleared also in this way. And the same answers are there again in our books like Bhagavad Gita As It Is, Srimad Bhagavatam, etc. So please see that all initiated devotees stick rigidly to their daily chanting and regulative living in devotional service. This is MOST important." (70-02-14 Letter: Madhuvisa)
Therefore, what is the value of unqualified persons referencing unauthorised books giving answers to the intelligent philosophical questions presented on this site? Where is the authority? Furthermore, and more importantly, Who is the authority?

The value of this forum resides in the free participation. It'b4s up to us as individuals to derive benefits both from the wrong answers and the correct. Then you have always Paramatma and Srila Prabhupada'b4s books to check for validity. But to say you can only derive benefit from those, is to live in a bubble and furthermore not acknowledge other channels that at the end of the day Krishna is letting be for our benefit. In other words we fly our own plane and that is the meaning of free will.

The order of the Spiritual Master is the active principle in spiritual life. Anyone who disobeys the order of the Spiritual Master immediately becomes useless. Persons who strictly follow the orders of the Spiritual Master are useful in executing the will of the Supreme, whereas persons who deviate from the strict orders of the Spiritual Master are useless.

Paddy is mixed with straw first, and one must fan it to separate the paddy from the straw. This example given by Krsnadas Kaviraja Goswami is very appropriate. In the case of the Gaudiya Matha members, one can apply a similar process. There are many disciples of Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura, but to judge who is actually His disciple, to divide the useful from the useless, one must measure the activities of such disciples in executing the will of the Spiritual Master.

Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura tried His best to spread the cult of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu to countries outside India. When He was present He patronized the disciples to go outside India to preach the cult of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, but they were unsuccessful because within their minds they were not actually serious about preaching His cult in foreign countries; they simply wanted to take credit for having gone to foreign lands and utilize this recognition in India by advertising themselves as repatriated preachers. Many swamis have adopted this hypocritical means of preaching for the last one hundred years or more, but no one could preach the real cult of Krsna Consciousness all over the world. They merely came back to India falsely advertising that they had converted all the foreigners to the ideas of Vedanta or Krsna Consciousness, and they collected funds in India and lived satisfied lives of material comfort.
The results of Srila Prabhupadas so-called Iskcon disciples attempts at preaching are identical in nature. Furthermore Mishra prabhu, Srila Prabhupada never said anything about acknowledging "other channels", nor did He say anything about "deriving benefits from both right and wrong answers". What He did actually say I have already stated within the initial question. Anything that differs from His words are a mental concoction attempting to justify the nonsense that is this site. Are you saying that His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada lived in a bubble? Do you expect me, or anyone else to believe that He told us to "fly our own plane"? Where is the evidence of such nonsense words? If you simply stick to the program that Srila Prabhupada so carefully set in place, your site will be spiritually beneficial to all and therefore automatically successful. As it stands at present, it is useless. It does not convey the orders of The Spiritual Master; His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada.

so why are you wasting your time here?

obviously we are suffering from the mistaken idea that thinking for ourselves with our faulty brains may help us to understand the absolute truth, instead of just faithfully repeating what has been written down by the previous acaryas.

take a good book or chant hare krsna or something and leave us to our misery...

Philosophy has to be somewhat encased in logic and your assessment dies before you utter it.

Srila Prabhupada instructed us to view and discuss the philosophy with devotees from various points and angles so to gain a strong hold of it. With all due respect your preaching sounds to me more like the born again Christians, etc. or worse, the preaching in the 80'b4s by the super gurus and allies, like "don'b4t trust your mind", etc.

Looks to me that this is not a question, but something to convince yourself that you are in the right track while forcing others to your views.

My suggestion is that you reassess your view and correct it or follow phani'b4s advice, all the while honoring your statements. The truth is that we are not going to accept YOU as ultimate authority, even less when you come with this attitude. Rest assured of that.

Based on your conclusion... why are you instructing the whole forum? Are you a maha bhagavata or Srimad Bhagavatam incarnation?

I find that discussions could improve if so called "Shrila Prabhupada disciples" stop using words like. "fuck you" and "piece of shit" when they try to communicate. As to answering it from within, it is true, but not sufficient.

Hey Narot -- you called my beloved godbrother and Srila Prabhupadas beloved son, Hayagriva "Kirtananandas boyfriend." Fuck you, you piece of shit. Fuck you, you piece of shit. Narot is a fucking piece of shit. A fucking fucking piece of fucking shit is Narot. What is a Narot? A Narot is a fucking piece of shit. Thats F U C K i n g PIECE of S H I T. NAROT -- the asshole of the month. NAROT --- the motherfucker cocksucker asshole piece of shit. There you go asshole? Now you have something to complain about. Go ahead -- the stage is yours.

Youre advocating that Hayagriva is faultless, but Kirtanananda admitted having sex with Hayagriva, even before they joined. And before they went off to W.Virginia. You are making a fool of yourself if you do not know this fact. It is not uncommon among clergy to have homosexual relationships. The problem is denial (and your low class redneck mouth). It is like saying that Allen Ginsberg is a saint. Well he died two years before Hayagriva, and did not hide it.

I never said Hayagriva is faultless. You have no idea how much Srila Prabhupada loved him. I saw it with my own eyes -- them hugging with tears in their eyes -- both of them -- their relationship was very deep and very transcendental. Of course he wasnt faultless. Who the hell is? We worked under Prabhupadas supervision and he spiritualized our work and actions. Who the hell are you to come out of nowhere -- a nobody -- with nothing -- and to pass harsh judgment on somebody like Hayagriva -- or even Kirtanananda for that matter -- or for anyone. Who the fuck are you? Who do you think you are? Do you have any idea how detrimental to whatever fledgling spiritual life you might have had going at one time the things you wrote here have done? In this Kali Yuga we arent responsible so much for what we think or even say -- but once something is written -- then you have to answer for it. Youre in deep deep trouble my friend. Deep trouble. If I were you Id quit while I was ahead. You really ought to shut up now and avoid total and utter spiritual suicide. Either that or beg forgiveness at the feet of Hayagrivas photo. You can find it if you Google "The Hare Krishna Explosion" which is one of the greatest books ever written ... or "Vrindaban Nights."

You can call me whatever you want but by going after Hayagriva you have gone after Prabhupada with teeth and claws bared like the animal you are. So I again repeat myself -- you are a motherfucking asshole worthless piece of shit. Oh -- and obviously a homophobe as well. Is that what bothered you -- that Hayagriva was a homosexual before he became a devotee? Big fucking deal. Did Srila Prabhupada reject him? No -- but you do. I cant believe an asshole like you could come onto this website and shit all over the legacy of a wonderful godbrother of mine and think hes going to get away with it. Every single time I see your name here I will continue to broadcast the fact that you are a piece of shit. Excuse me -- a fucking piece of shit. Fuck you, you asshole piece of shit. A little louder now ... FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU NAROT YOU PIECE OF CRAP. Oh -- did I mention FUCK YOU Narot? Just in case I forgot -- FUCK YOU NAROT; What the fuck is a Narot, anyway?

This type of verbal abuse is common in families in which a parent who was verbally abused passes down verbal poison to his or her child, who as an adult in turn passes down this ugly heirloom to their child, and so comes the portnoy. The old adage '93the apple doesnt fall far from the tree'94 is most appropriate here. Feeling sorry for you portnoy.
