Just a comment: His Holiness Bhaktisvarupa Damodar Swami (Dr. TD Singh in the book) requested the BBT that since Prabhupada was talking in LCFL as conversations with his disciples, it should be edited and statements like "kick the scientists in their face" should be edited out. Prabhupada would not speak like that with reporters or the public because he was a gentleman. He was instructing his disciples in their preaching, not talking to new people in that context. But the BBT did not and has not agreed because they want to keep Prabhupada "as he is".

I found Science of Self realization bringing more devotees in my experience, but that is only my view.

Also Elevation to Krishna consciousness and The Path of Perfection are small but nice starters

Devakinandana Prabhu who has been distributing books for around 15 years mainly in the USA and Australia once told me that devotees in the USA did a survey (I forgot when) on which book they read before coming to KC and the winner was Science of Self Realization. Bhagavad-gita was the second book most accredited for inspiring people to join.

Next time I talk to him Ill try to remember to ask him about this and post more details here.

Prabhupada said NOD was for everyone and not just for devotees but I dont know how they would feel when they read all about spotaneous devotional service.
